Every fourth American against COVID-19 vaccination

While pharmaceutical corporations are engaged in a race for primacy in creating a vaccine against coronavirus, it turned out that a quarter of Americans are not interested in the drug.

This is evidenced by the results of a sociological study conducted by Ipsos by order of the Reuters agency.

According to data released on Thursday, May 21, 14% of respondents are not at all interested in using the vaccine. 10% are probably not interested. “Very” or “to some extent” are less than two-thirds interested.

Approximately 36% of those surveyed said their confidence in the drug would decline if the US President Donald Trump calls it safe. Only 14% of respondents gave the opposite answer.

At the same time, Reuters, referring to the calculations of specialists, notes that it is necessary to vaccinate at least 70% of Americans to create resistance to coronavirus infection and prevent its further spread.
