Eight people killed in militant attack on a mosque in Afghanistan

At least eight people were killed and more than ten were injured as a result of an attack by militants on a mosque in the Afghan province of Parwan, the TOLO News television channel reported with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The head of the local province, Harun Mubariz, said that all those killed in the village of Halal-Zayi were civilians.

The radical Taliban denied any involvement in the attack.

In Afghanistan, there is a confrontation between government forces and the militants of the radical Taliban movement, which had previously captured a significant territory in rural areas of the country and launched an attack on large cities. Also, the influence of the Islamic State terrorist group* has intensified in the country. Afghan National Defense and Security Forces are conducting joint counter-terrorism operations across the country.
