The decisions of the British government are called “inadequate”, but “one can look back on them with pride”.
This statement was made by UK Secretary of State for Labour and Pensions Theresa Coffey, commenting on a letter from British parliamentarians published by Greg Clarke, Head of the Science and Technology Committee, to the BBC.
In the letter, MPs criticized the government for its “inadequate” approach to COVID-19 testing, lack of transparency and poor management of the home care sector.
“I think from the beginning, around mid-February, I think it was in order to get the bandwidth and real tests that resulted in 100,000 [infected] within about six weeks, I think it’s pretty decent and in fact, I think it’s something to look back on”, – said Teresa Coffey.
To date, 246 000 Coronavirus infections and almost 35 000 deaths have been reported in the UK.
As earlier informed News Front, journalist Owen Jones named the decision to remove quarantine restrictions in kingdom “exchange” lives of workers on incomes of shareholders. At the same time, Bloomberg reported that Boris Johnson was at an impasse due to the fact that citizens are afraid of quarantine.
