International cooperation and mutual assistance are the main weapons against COVID-19, Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Monday.
“We need to improve (global) the management system of public health security, we need to respond more quickly to public health emergencies and establish global and regional backup centers with the goods necessary to fight epidemics”, – Xi Jinping said during the 73rd World Health Assembly, which is held by videoconference.
The Chinese leader stressed the need to strengthen international cooperation, which together with solidarity “is the most powerful weapon against the virus.
According to him, this is the main lesson that humanity should have learned in the fight against past epidemics such as Ebola and swine flu H1N1.
