Since May 15, protests rally in Tirana. Tirana police said on May 18 that after the demolition of the building of the National Theater in Tirana on the morning of May 17, seven policemen were injured during a nearly 12-hour clash between police and protesters.
According to the Albanian news agency Lapsi, a total of 64 people were detained by the police, and criminal cases were opened against 21 of them.
The police appealed to the organizers of the protests to stop illegal mass rallies during the pandemic.
The opposition calls on citizens not to pay for water and electricity and to protest at four in the afternoon, local time, on Monday, May 18.
