Lukashenko signs Amnesty Law

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed the law “On Amnesty in Connection with the 75th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.”

The law defines the categories of citizens subject to exemption from punishment: minors, pregnant women, women and single men with children under the age of 18, persons of retirement age, persons with disabilities of groups I and II, as well as some other categories of convicted and accused.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the number of such citizens will be about 5.4 thousand people.
