Russian military assisted in the fight against COVID-19 will return from Serbia

Four flights from Serbia with the Russian military, who helped fight the coronavirus, are planned on Sunday, a second convoy is already on its way to the airport, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

The second convoy with military and special equipment of the combined detachment of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, which performed tasks to assist Serbia in the fight against coronavirus, began to march from a temporary deployment point in Belgrade to the Batainitsa airfield, the agency said.

At the airport, personnel and equipment will be loaded onto the Il-76 aircraft of the Russian military transport aviation.

“On May 17, it is planned to make four flights and deliver about 20 military personnel and five units of special military equipment to Russia”, – the report said.

On Saturday, three flights took place to transport the Russian military from Serbia.
