Serbia appreciated Russia’s assistance in combating COVID

Serbia will not forget Russian military specialists who assisted the republic in the most difficult times, said Minister of Defense Alexander Vulin.

On Saturday near Belgrade, official departures of Russian military specialists took place at a military airport, in which Minister of Defense Alexander Vulin, Chief of the General Staff General Milan Moisilovich, Russian Ambassador to the Balkan Republic Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko took part.

“You arrived when it was hardest for us. When those who are much stronger and richer than us gave up the fight, Serbia then felt that it was not alone, that Russia was with it. You fought, there were hardworking, real experts. When the history of these days is written, your arrival and your struggle will not remain forgotten”, – the reporters quoted Vulina as saying.

He noted that Russia and Serbia were together in difficult times and will enjoy good times together.

Major General Chernyshov summed up the results of the presence of Russian specialists in Serbia.

“Today, the first units of the consolidated detachment of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation leave the hospitable republic of Serbia. By the joint efforts of the Government of Serbia, its armed forces and the combined detachment of the Russian Federation, we were able to reverse the epidemic of coronavirus. We have put a lot of effort into this task. Thank you all for those strength and soul that you invested in this task”, – said Chernyshov.
