The Ukrainian security forces violated the ceasefire in the Donbass 21 times over the past day, a representative of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic told the reporters at the Joint Center for the Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire (JCCC).
On Friday, the representative office of the DPR in the CCCC announced eight violations of the ceasefire.
“Over the past day, the total number of violations by the AFU (the armed formations of Ukraine) amounted to 21 times”, – the representative of the department said.
The representative office of the DPR in the SCCC added that 58 mines with a caliber of 82 and 120 millimeters were fired on the territory of the republic. During the shelling, small arms and grenade launchers were also used. In the zone of fire were eight settlements.
In April 2014, the Ukrainian authorities launched a military operation against the self-proclaimed LPR and DPR, which declared independence after the coup in Ukraine in February 2014. According to the latest UN data, about 13 thousand people became victims of the conflict.
The issue of resolving the situation in the Donbass is discussed, in particular, during meetings of the contact group in Minsk, which since September 2014 has already adopted three documents regulating steps to de-escalate the conflict. However, even after armistice agreements between the parties to the conflict, skirmishes continue.
