About 20 quarantine protests take place in central Berlin

About 20 protests are held in the center of Berlin against self-isolation measures introduced by the authorities in connection with the coronavirus pandemic, there are no violations, the official number of participants in each action does not exceed 50 people, the city police told the reporters.

“In the city center, including Alexanderplatz and Rosa-Luxembourg-Platz, a total of 21 shares were announced, some of which are still ongoing. The official number of participants of each action does not exceed 50 people, this requirement is respected, although a lot of onlookers gathered around the perimeter of the venue”, – said a police spokeswoman.

According to her, some of those gathered at the moment are near the Reichstag building in the center, at the Brandenburg Gate, where another protest rally should begin in the near future. It is not yet possible to determine the exact number of activists due to the fact that due to the warm sunny weather there are many tourists and vacationers who “sit on the grass and relax”, the representative said.

“At present, no violations have been recorded during the rally, everything is going on quite peacefully, the number of participants does not exceed the previously announced”, – he said.
