New Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Casemi invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit Baghdad. This was stated in the press service of the prime minister.
The Iraqi parliament on the night of May 7 approved the composition of the government proposed by al-Kazemi. At the same time, voting on candidates for the post of ministers of oil and foreign affairs was postponed. Parliament also rejected the candidatures of the ministers of trade, justice, culture, agriculture and the Minister for Migration.
The second vice-speaker of the parliament, Bashir al-Haddad, said that al-Kazemi will present candidates for vacant positions in the government before the end of May, after which the parliament will set a date for the meeting to pass him a vote of confidence.
Al-Kazemi held a meeting on Wednesday with Russian Ambassador Maxim Maximov.
