Maduro said that new groups of mercenaries are preparing to invade Venezuela in Colombia

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela said that Colombian leader Ivan Doce is behind this process.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said Thursday that new mercenary groups are preparing to invade Colombia.

“New groups of assassins and terrorists are forming again in Colombia. We have the data, names, their locations”, –  said Maduro, whose speech in Caracas was broadcast on state television.

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela added that the Colombian leader, Ivan Duque, is behind this process. “Everything points to Ivan Duque again”, –  said Maduro.

On May 3, the Venezuelan authorities reported that they managed to prevent the infiltration of a group of mercenaries from Colombia, who intended to carry out a coup d’état in the Bolivarian Republic and kill the President. Among the detainees were two U.S. citizens. The Venezuelan leader broadcasted their documents to Luke Alexander Denman and Ayran Berry on state television. The first of them told during the interrogation that he and his accomplices were to take control of the airport and bring Maduro there to take him to the United States.

U.S. President Donald Trump said that Washington had nothing to do with a group of people arrested in Venezuela, and that the U.S. would not hide the fact of the operation against this country if it was planned.
