Washington has no clear plan for the production of a vaccine against coronavirus, nor a strategy for its equitable distribution.
Such a statement on Thursday, May 14, made Dr. Rick Bright, speaking in Congress.
As News Front previously reported, Bright was fired as head of the Office of Advanced Research and Development in Biomedicine. This happened after he opposed Donald Trump, who was promoting a highly controversial drug as a cure for COVID-19.
“We do not yet have a [vaccination plan], and this is a matter of serious concern,” Bright said, emphasizing that lawmakers have every reason to be worried.
According to him, the country needs a plan to create a supply chain in order to provide the United States with tens of millions of doses of vaccine. Then it must be distributed fairly.
“Without clear planning and implementation of the steps that I and other experts have outlined, 2020 will be the darkest winter in modern history,” Bright said.
