The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia forced the resignation of Josef Migas, who until recently was the ambassador to Belarus.
According to the diplomat himself, the diplomatic service was dissatisfied with the fact that he took part in the celebrations dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. As you know, on May 9, a full-scale military parade was held in Minsk.
Explaining his decision to attend the parade, he said that he considered the date very significant.
“I am the son of a partisan and a clear anti-fascist,” Migash said.
The Slovak Foreign Ministry accused the diplomat of violating the rules of interaction between the embassy and the diplomatic service, since he did not inform the leadership of his intentions. In this regard, the ministry demanded that Migash resign.
Josef Migas headed the Slovak Embassy in Minsk since 2016.
