170 tons of humanitarian aid from Russia were sent by cars for Syrian residents.
Colonel Maxim Gerasimov, deputy chief of staff for the logistics of the grouping of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in Syria, told reporters that humanitarian aid from Russia was first sent to the Hasekian province of Syria, several dozen vehicles would bring there more than 170 tons of cargo.
“Today, in the port of Tartus, humanitarian aid of more than 170 tons is loaded onto motor transport, with subsequent delivery to three departments of the Center for the Reconciliation of the warring parties in Zaevfrat. The route of the automobile convoy is more than one and a half thousand kilometers in one direction,” Gerasimov said.
A convoy of trucks will deliver the cargo to three settlements, where humanitarian aid will be transferred to the local administration through representatives of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the warring parties, and it will already distribute it among local residents. During the route, the humanitarian convoy will be guarded by a military police unit, army aviation. The areas where the trucks will move will first be inspected using drones.
