NATO Secretary General accused Russia and China of destabilizing the West with misinformation about the coronavirus.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg accused Russia and China of spreading disinformation in the context of the coronavirus pandemic.
“Russian and Chinese players, state and non-state, have spread a lot of information and propaganda to distort the truth. This is the wrong attitude”, – he said in an interview with the Italian newspaper la Repubblica.
According to the NATO Secretary General, this is done in order to influence the political processes in the alliance and the EU and destabilize the global situation. What kind of misinformation are we talking about, he did not say. Stoltenberg stressed that distorted data are presented through statements of officials from China and Russia.
Previously, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov responded to accusations against Russia by the EU regarding misinformation about the coronavirus. He said that no evidence of such actions had ever been received from the European Union.
