The US Federal Bureau of Investigation today, May 13, officially announced China’s attempts to illegally obtain information about Covid-19 studies in the United States.
As the FBI noted, the US health care, pharmaceutical, and coronavirus research companies are the most likely targets for cyber attacks from the PRC: Chinese hackers “were seen trying to identify and illegally obtain valuable data representing intellectual property in the field of research related to Covid-19. ”
What exactly were the Chinese hackers noticed, and whether anything had already been stolen, the FBI did not specify.
