The head of the Colombian Navy reported that 14 soldiers were dismissed after losing three boats

Earlier the current took the boats to Venezuelan territory.

Commander of the Colombian Navy Evelio Ramírez announced that 14 servicemen had been dismissed from service after the incident with three boats, which were carried away on Venezuelan territory. He reported this on Tuesday to La FM radio station.

“Lieutenant Colonel, commander of Marine Battalion 51, as well as the captain, chief of operations and commander of river units of this battalion were dismissed”, –  Ramirez said.

The head of the Navy added that three non-commissioned officers and nine Marines, who were directly responsible for the boats, were also dismissed.

May 9, the Venezuelan Armed Forces found three abandoned boats, belonging to the Colombian Navy, with weapons on board. Representatives of the Colombian navy said that the boats “were taken away by the current”. Later, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, stated that he was ready to return the military equipment if the Colombian leader, Ivan Doce, asked him to do so.
