The former head of Catalonia enjoys immunity as a member of the European Parliament, so he cannot be arrested.
The court in Brussels suspended the extradition of the former head of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia, Carlos Puchdemon to Spain, reports Elvio.es.
It is noted that the extradition procedure is suspended until the European Parliament deprives Puchdemon and his associate Tony Comin of parliamentary immunity.
It should be recalled that in October 2019, Carles Puchdemon, who had been hiding in Belgium since 2017, voluntarily surrendered to the authorities.
