The Polish National Election Commission adopted a resolution that will allow the ruling Law and Justice party to announce new presidential elections.
Poland’s National Election Commission adopted a resolution that will allow the ruling Law and Justice party to announce new presidential elections without involving the Supreme Court. The resolution was unanimously approved by 8 out of 9 members of the Commission.
“The inability to vote for candidates based on the results is equivalent to the inability to vote for the absence of candidates. This means that now the Speaker of the Seimas has 14 days to re-announce the election, ” the resolution says.
According to the sources of the publication, the most probable date is called June 28. “Law and Justice” wants to hold elections as soon as possible because of fears that subsequently the ratings of Andrzej Duda will decrease. Recent polls have already confirmed that a second round may be needed in the elections.
