Ex-Prime Minister of Moldova and leader of the pro-Western party Action and Solidarity Maya Sandu admitted that she faces a difficult choice regarding a deal with corrupt officials that she had promised to overcome before.
So she commented on the call of the deputy group “Pro Moldova” for the creation of an anti-government parliamentary alliance.
According to Sandu, for the opposition, the deal with Pro Moldova could result in selective, political or image damage. At the same time, she acknowledged that her party would take such a risk for the sake of the removal of the government of Ion Kiku, who once replaced her as prime minister.
“We are faced with a difficult choice: to take all risks in terms of politics and image, including risks for voters, or to leave the situation unchanged,” Sandu said.
At the same time, she emphasized that she was ready to try to remove the government “regardless of the political consequences in the medium and long term.”
