Russian VKS pilots hold air parade over Hmeimim airbase in Syria

Pilots of the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) held an air parade over Khmeimim airbase in Syria on Victory Day.

Mi-8AMTSh and Mi-35M helicopters and attack helicopters, An-30 and An-72 military transport aircraft, Su-35 multi-purpose super-maneuverable fighters, as well as Su-34 multi-functional fighter-bombers took part in the air parade.

In addition, an A-59 long-range radar detection aircraft and two Su-24 bombers, which simulated a refueling in the air, flew in the Syrian sky.

“We set off on a flight, feeling responsible, in order to convey congratulations in the form of an air show away from home, and this day is another opportunity to commemorate the departed veterans, congratulate those who are still in service, and remind ourselves of what is on whom to follow and who to learn from, ”said the pilot of the Su-24 Sergey Dmitriev.
