In connection with artillery strikes at the international airport in Tripoli, it was decided to close it indefinitely.
This was reported by the press service of the airport administration.
“All flights with Mitiga International Airport have been temporarily suspended due to ongoing shelling until further notice,” the communique says.
According to the headquarters of armed groups loyal to the Government of National Accord, the airport was bombarded with Grad multiple launch rocket systems. At the same time, in Tripoli, responsibility for the attack was assigned to the Libyan national army of Marshal Khalifa Haftar.
As News Front previously reported, Marshal Khalifa Haftar’s Libyan National Army resumed its offensive on Tripoli late last year. The government of national consensus in response requested support from Ankara, after which Turkish-loyal jihadists who fought in Syria came to the aid of local militants.
