Hong Kong Legislative Council witnesses clash between deputies

Deputies from the opposing parties on Friday staged riots in the Legislative Council of Hong Kong (LegCo) because of the election of the chairman of the committee of the legislature, the local newspaper South China Morning Post reported.

According to it, the incident occurred after opposition deputies expressed their intention to interfere with the agenda of the pro-government bloc, insisting on the need to elect a new committee chairman before any discussions begin.
