The statement by the US President Donald Trump about the desire for an agreement on arms control with Russia should not be overestimated, this can only be a pre-election speech, Andrei Klimov, deputy chairman of the Federation Council committee on international affairs, told the reporters.
Trump said he had a telephone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin and the US and the Russian Federation were seeking an arms control agreement.
“It would be reckless to overestimate this statement, we know that the presidential election is coming soon in the US, and experience shows that all statements in the US in the pre-election period should be divided by ten”, – Klimov said.
