Ambassadors of a number of CIS countries to the U.S. stated that they intend to firmly defend the truth about the war

Diplomats noted that the peoples of the USSR not only survived a terrible battle with the enemy during the Great Patriotic War, but also provided a peaceful future for the next generations at the cost of tens of millions of lives.

Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kirgizia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will firmly abandon the historical truth about the Great Patriotic War. This was stated in a joint article published Friday in The Washington Times by Russian Ambassadors Anatoly Antonov, Charge d’Affaires a.i. Dmitry Basik, Charge d’Affaires a.i. of Belarus, Zhavlon Vahabov of Uzbekistan, Yerzhan Kazykhanov of Kazakhstan, Varuzhan Nersesian of Armenia, Mered Orazov of Turkmenistan, Farkhad Salim of Kyrgyzstan and Otunbaev of Tajikistan.

“75 years ago, representatives of the United Nations saved the world from a terrible threat – Nazism. The peoples of the USSR, having offered unprecedented heroic resistance, not only survived the terrible battle with the enemy during the Great Patriotic War, but also ensured a peaceful future for the next generations at the cost of tens of millions of lives”, – diplomats noted.

“In victorious 1945, the world looked at the liberators with admiration and sincere gratitude. Our common duty – to keep and firmly defend the historical truth about those events, to honor and pass on through generations the memory of the lessons and sacrifices of the Second World War, of all those who fought against Nazism and fascism in the name of independence, rescue from enslavement and destruction of entire countries and peoples, respect for human dignity, the triumph of the ideals of freedom and equality”, – stressed in the article.

“In these days we remember the fallen, thank and wish long years to veterans of the allied Soviet and American armies, workers of the rear, all those who gave us this common holiday for our peoples – the text says. – In the XXI century they are an example of selflessness, brotherhood in arms and cooperation for the supreme goal”.
