According to reports, the US State Department will allocate 140 thousand dollars to fight “misinformation”. The program will unfold in the Balkans. The target audience is citizens of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, Slovenia, Serbia, as well as the self-proclaimed republic of Kosovo.
According to official information, the program aims to “strengthen the confidence of society in a free press and democratic institutions”, as well as “help participants more effectively detect and counter fake news.” In particular, the State Department declared war on objectionable accounts on social networks.
