John Sullivan, U.S. Ambassador to Russia, does not rule out the inclusion of the UK and France in negotiations on the extension of the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START).
“We discussed it. In particular, I was involved in the discussion when I was in my previous position as Deputy Secretary of State, and I spoke about President Putin’s proposal for a Nuclear Five meeting to allow all five countries to participate in the arms control discussion. I think that is a topic that could be proposed to the nuclear five countries for discussion. Of course, the issues on the agenda need to be resolved with the P5 members, but there is a possibility of involving France and the UK”, – he said.
