“Tens of thousands of Americans will die” – Trump administration makes COVID-19 more deadly

The US President Donald Trump not only failed the fight against the epidemic in the country, but also aggravated the situation.

As it turned out, his initiatives only crippled the lethality of the already dangerous virus.

This is reported on Monday, May 4, by the agency “Bloomberg”.

According to media reports, we are talking about air pollution, which Donald Trump actually encourages. Thus, the presidential administration lowered the fuel efficiency standard, which allowed to reduce the harmful effects of car exhaust.

At the same time, the Environmental Protection Agency allowed coal, oil, gas and electricity producers to ignore pollution monitoring obligations. The pandemic of the coronavirus was justified.

“In fact, their release from the requirements for monitoring pollution will only exacerbate the health crisis and, consequently, the economic crisis”, – the article says.

Referring to the results of a study conducted by Harvard University, the agency notes that even a slight increase in air pollution by small particles entails an increase in mortality from COVID-19.

“Low-income and color communities that are disproportionately affected by pollution sources such as highways and refineries have been hit hardest”, – the authors write, stressing that “tens of thousands of Americans will die as a result”.
