The German government does not consider its policy regarding the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline a threat to NATO, the German cabinet’s response to the deputy’s request says.
“The federal government does not share the view that German policy towards Nord Stream-2 threatens NATO”, – the document says.
So the government commented on the words of the US Senator Tom Catton, who considers Germany’s gas pipeline policy a threat to the North Atlantic Alliance.
Also, the government does not agree with the view that the US is more aggressive towards the “European peoples”. In response, the Cabinet of Ministers notes that the United States remains “the most important partner outside Europe in security policy”.
