Trump thinks that Biden should respond to the harassment charges

At the same time, the President of the United States has admitted that these allegations may be false.

Former U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden, who seeks nomination of a candidate from the Democratic Party in the presidential election, must respond to allegations of harassment. This opinion was expressed by US President Donald Trump on Thursday.

“I think he should respond. It could be false accusations, I know all about false accusations. I don’t know, I can’t speak for Biden. I can only say that he should answer”, –  said the head of the Washington administration, answering questions from journalists at the White House.

Earlier, Biden’s former assistant Tara Reed accused a politician of sexual assault and filed a police report. As reported on April 11 by the Internet portal Business Insider, Reed claims that in 1993, Biden, who was then a senator, touched her in one of the corridors of the U.S. Congress building without her permission. In March, Reed told reporters that she had allegedly been sexually assaulted by Biden. Representatives of the former U.S. vice president then noted that “the accusations are unfounded.

The New York Times reported that seven other women had previously told journalists that some of Biden’s actions, including kissing, hugging and touching, made them uncomfortable. Some of them noted that they believed the version Reed had presented was plausible.

Biden remained the only Democrat candidate for the US presidency after Vermont State Senator Bernie Sanders withdrew from the campaign on April 8. Presidential elections in the United States are scheduled for November 3.
