Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden will make a public statement about the 1993 incident.
Biden intends to appear on MSNBC on Friday May 1 to answer charges from former staff member Tara Reid.
As News Front previously reported, in early April, a woman made allegations against Biden. The incident occurred in the spring of 1993, when he was a senator. At his campaign headquarters, the incident is denied. Biden himself has so far persistently avoided discussing the topic. Against this backdrop, the authoritative publication The Washington Post criticized the approach of the 77-year-old Democrat.
The Democratic Party itself was concerned that in parallel with the policy of supporting women who faced similar situations, Biden had to be covered with his ambiguous past.
“Women deserve to be heard”, – Georgia ex-governor candidate Stacy Abrams said. “These allegations must be investigated by reliable sources”.
Former head of the National Committee of the Democratic Party, Donna Brasile, in turn, noted that Biden’s silence only harms him.
“The campaign issued statements, but it did not make any statements of its own”, – Brazil said. “It doesn’t help, it’s just bad for the person who is nominated [for President]”.
Sponsor and member of the Democratic Party Alex Sink also admitted that she was disappointed with how Biden’s headquarters responded to the allegations:
“They immediately reared up, saying: “This did not happen, we categorically deny it, this is not true”.
