“Coronavirus pneumonia is a national disaster. China, like the United States, is its victim. All those affected must stand in solidarity and work together to defeat the enemy. The United States should understand that the enemy is the virus, not China”, – the diplomat said.
“Currently, instead of blaming and blaming China, the United States should focus on domestic containment [of the epidemic] and international cooperation. As for punishment or claims, <…> such rhetoric has no legal basis”, – he stressed.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman also recalled Ebola and the Zeke virus and noted that “there are no international precedents for such actions.
“Has anyone been punished for them?” – said Gen Shuang. – “At present, the international community needs to strengthen solidarity and cooperation”, – the diplomat concluded.
