The situation with coronavirus in Russia is better than in several European countries, the authorities are taking the most vigorous measures, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
“The situation in Russia is really better than in several European countries, because Russia managed to use a temporary backlog, several weeks, in order to urgently expand the capabilities of the healthcare system”, – he told the reporters.
“You ask why the number of infected people is growing. This is growing because of the pandemic. Because of the global pandemic”, – Peskov added.
He noted that now an increase in the number of cases is actually being recorded, measures are being taken to counter this both at the federal and regional levels.
“Yes, so far the growth has really been fixed, and in order to stop this growth for a start, then to deduce the trend already in negative numbers, the most energetic measures are being taken both in the federal center and in each individual region”, – he said.
