One in three patients with COVID-19 dies in Britain

Based on the results of a study of the situation in 166 hospitals in England, Wales and Scotland, experts stated that a third of patients infected with coronavirus die.

This is stated in the study, which was presented by the pediatric project “DFTB”.

The study was conducted with the participation of experts from the University of Edinburgh and Liverpool, as well as Imperial College London. The observations were carried out in 166 medical institutions, where during the study period 16 thousand patients with COVID-19 were treated.
At the time the study was completed, about half of the patients were discharged, 17% continued

treatment in the hospital, and a third of those who died died.

During the observation process, experts noted that a high mortality rate was in general wards among patients who did not receive intensive care.
