For a long time, the pro-Western opposition forces in Moldova manipulated the issue of early parliamentary elections, but now have renounced their statements.
The corresponding statement was made by Deputy Chairman of “Dignity and Truth” party Alexander Slusar on the air of “TVC 21” channel.
As News Front reported earlier, the issue of dissolution of the current convocation of parliament in the opposition has been demonstratively discussed since last year, when the pro-Western block “ACUM” united in a coalition with the Party of Socialists.
Last autumn, Oleksandr Slusar himself asked the Constitutional Court to review the electoral legislation for early parliamentary elections.
Moreover, last week, the idea of dissolving the parliament was voiced by the leader of the Dignity and Truth party, Andrei Nestase. He argued that early parliamentary elections would “bring the country back to normal”.
Now, the opposition party refuses to say anything, admitting that the statements were only a PR move.
“Today, I have neither social nor legal grounds to say that [the parliamentary] elections will be held this year, let alone parallel to the presidential one”, – said Alexander Slusar.
