COVID-19 pushes EAEC countries towards deeper integration

It is wrong to think that the best solution in a pandemic is to isolate the State. What is more important is to create an international integration that allows for a collective response.

This statement was made by Russian Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Nikolai Udovichenko.

According to him, the coronavirus pandemic allowed looking at the Eurasian Economic Union from the other side. He stressed that the processes within the commonwealth should be accelerated.

“It is necessary to follow the path of deepening integration. Against the background of the pandemic, many people think it is necessary to close their apartments. But no, we need to agree on how we can expand integration, and that it will be able to produce collective responses. It didn’t work out this time. We had to wait for the EAEC mechanism to work and basically all communication was on a bilateral basis. I believe that we have all the chances to look at integration from the other side. We need to find solutions faster”, –  the diplomat said.
