Trump stated that states were encouraged to lift sanitary restrictions “as soon as possible”

At the same time, as the U.S. President noted, it must be done “in a safe manner”.

U.S. federal authorities recommend that states lift health restrictions as soon as possible, but in a manner that does not jeopardize the health of citizens. This was stated by U.S. President Donald Trump at a briefing for journalists at the White House on Monday.

“We want them to do it, we recommend that they do it as soon as possible, but in a safe way. We want everyone to be safe”, –  he said.

That said, Trump said, many states can start by resuming classes in schools before sanitary restrictions are completely lifted.

“I think you’ll see that many schools will open <…> I think it’ll be good because, as you’ve seen, as far as the impact of this malignant virus is concerned, young people seem to be doing very well”, –  the president said.

The U.S. currently only has stores and pharmacies that sell basic commodities. Restaurants and cafes only accept orders with skill. Gyms, museums, educational institutions, cinemas and theaters are closed. On April 16, the President announced that the authorities were starting to “open up the country.”

The administration has announced new recommendations for the phased abolition of measures introduced because of the coronavirus. The President stressed that it was up to the governors to decide when to lift the restrictions, as the situation in each state was different.
