Trump signaled the possibility of financial claims by the U.S. against China

According to the American president, the United States is studying the situation.

U.S. President Donald Trump has signaled the possibility of Washington to make financial claims to Beijing in connection with the spread of the new coronavirus.

Speaking at a press conference in the White House on Monday, the U.S. leader confirmed that the U.S. administration is considering this option. He made statements in this regard after a journalist asked Trump if the US was ready to follow the example of Germany, which allegedly billed China for the $130 billion new coronavirus outbreak.

“We can do something much easier. We can do something much easier”, –  said the head of the US administration in response. – “Germany is studying the situation, we  are studying the situation”, – stressed the President of the United States. – “And we are talking about a much bigger sum than Germany”.

“We have not yet determined the final amount”, –  Trump said.

He also once again made claims that China did not take measures quickly enough to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.

“The whole world is suffering because of this”, – Trump said.

Meanwhile, Germany has not made any financial claims against China. A symbolic account of China for €149 billion was recently issued by the tabloid Bild.

The outbreak of the disease caused by the new coronavirus was recorded in late 2019 in Central China and has spread to most countries. On 11 March, it was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. To date, more than 3 million people have been infected with Coronavirus and almost 210,000 have died. All countries and territories have had to take various emergency sanitary-epidemiological measures. The pandemic has created a deep international economic crisis. According to IMF projections, the global economy is expected to decline by 3 per cent in 2020.
