US Treasury blocking Iran from buying medical equipment

Washington has blocked 90% of Iran’s purchases of medical equipment as coronavirus spread.

American journalist Rick Sterling told about it, commenting on allegations by US officials that anti-Iranian sanctions allegedly do not apply to the humanitarian sphere.

“There is no doubt that sanctions against Iran limit the supply of medical equipment to the country. The U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control reportedly blocked 90 percent of purchases of Iranian medical equipment”, – Sterling said.

He stressed that the world is facing an economic war that “threatens the sovereignty of nations and violates the UN Charter.

“In the current difficult situation because of the coronavirus, the U.S. is trying to use the pandemic to intervene and overthrow other governments”, –  the journalist said.
