US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that Washington does not believe in the peaceful nature of Iran’s space program.
“Over the years, Iran has stated that its space program is completely peaceful and civil. The administration (US President Donald. – RT) of Trump has never believed in these fabrications, “the State Department quoted Pompeo as saying.
He noted that the launch of a military satellite by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps “testifies to what we have been talking about all this time: Iran’s space program is not peaceful and not completely civilian.”
Pompeo added that the Iranian launch vehicle was developed using technologies that are used in ballistic missiles, including intercontinental ones.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that Tehran does not have missiles that would carry a nuclear charge.
