According to the Minister of Culture of Italy, only those facilities will be opened that will be able to provide all the requirements for observing security measures.
Italian Minister of Culture and Tourism Dario Franceschini said in an interview with La Repubblica that the most famous cultural sites in Italy, such as the archaeological sites of the Colosseum or Pompeii, will be open in May after the quarantine expires on May 3.
“Museums will open in May, not from May 4, a little later. And only those will open who will be able to provide all the requirements for observing security measures, ” said Franceschini.
At the same time, in his opinion, it is too early to talk about inbound tourism.
“The opening of borders will depend on the epidemiological situation and the policies of each individual state. There will be no international tourism this year, so the plan “Traveling in Italy” was born, which involves investment in domestic tourism, ” said the Italian Minister.
