The Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights Lyudmila Denisova with a request for assistance in the delivery of humanitarian aid was approached by Tatyana Moskalkova.
The Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, Tatyana Moskalkova, sent a letter to her Ukrainian colleague asking for assistance in delivering free Easter assistance from Russian lay believers to the inhabitants of the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.
“Having learned about their difficult situation, the laity of our states wrote to each other and agreed on possible support. Currently, more than 2 tons of medicines, disinfectants and other products necessary to combat the spread of coronavirus infection have been collected, ” Moskalkova writes in her appeal.
The Russian Commissioner for Human Rights indicates that the cargo cannot be accepted without aspecial order of the Ukrainian Ministry of Social Policy, but the Ukrainian department is simply silent on all appeals from the Russian side. Moskalkova recalls that procrastination can lead to spoilage of drugs and asks a colleague to assist in the speedy delivery of goods to the destination.
“However, this vital cargo can only be accessed if it is approved by the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine. I really hope for an early resolution of this issue, ” the appeal says.
