“We all – the government and parliament, our entire country – have faced a challenge that has not yet existed since the end of World War II, the time when the Federal Republic of Germany was founded”, – she said. – “We will have to live with this virus for a long time to come”, – Merkel said.
The Chancellor also claimed that during her time at the helm of the German government, no decision had ever been more difficult for her than the decision to limit social contacts for citizens during the spread of the coronavirus.
Merkel also stated that WHO was an indispensable partner for Germany, and Berlin fully supported her work.
