Russian and Qatari specialists are working on joint development of a vaccine against a new coronavirus infection, Russian Ambassador to Qatar Nurmakhmad Kholov told the reporters on Wednesday.
“Russia and Qatar have been maintaining close cooperation since the first days of the start of the COVID-19 epidemic, and active work is being carried out between the relevant departments of the two countries for joint development of the vaccine”, – the ambassador said.
He also said that the Qatari authorities are studying the possibility of using Russian test systems for laboratory diagnostics of COVID-19, which allow you to quickly get results – in 2-4 hours. This Russian development was transferred to 13 countries of the world.
The diplomat praised the complex of emergency measures undertaken by the emirate’s leadership to combat the pandemic.
