The Chinese Foreign Ministry expressed doubts about the media sources of information on Kim Jong-Un’s deteriorating health

Earlier CNN reported that the U.S. is studying the intelligence on the deterioration of the DPRK State Council Chairman’s health after his alleged surgery.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Gong Shuang said at a briefing on Tuesday that he had seen media publications on the deteriorating health of DPRK State Council Chairman Kim Jong-un, but did not know the sources of that information.

“I have seen media reports on this subject, but I do not know who the source of their information is. Perhaps only what you just said is the source”, –  he said.

“I want to say that China and the DPRK are longstanding friendly partners. China intends to follow the same path with the DPRK to promote continuous development of Sino-Korean relations,” the diplomat said.

Earlier, CNN TV reported with reference to a source in the U.S. administration that the United States is studying the intelligence data on the deterioration of the DPRK State Council Chairman Kim Jong-un’s health after his alleged surgical operation. According to a CNN source, the health of the leader of the People’s Democratic Republic of Korea could allegedly be in serious danger.

In this connection, Seoul on Tuesday reported that there are no signs of any unusual activity in DPRK that might indicate significant health problems with Kim Jong-un.

On April 16, the Central Telegraph Agency of Korea (CTAK) informed that the day before Kim Jong-un did not attend the inauguration ceremony at the Kymsun Palace of the Sun for the first time in many years with the participation of representatives of the country’s leadership on the occasion of the 108th birth anniversary of his grandfather and founder Kim Il-sung. Kim Jong-un has not been in public since April 11, when he held a meeting of the Political Bureau of the Korean Labor Party’s Central Committee on domestic policy issues.
