EU and UK start second round of relationship talks after Brexit

The European Union and Great Britain began the second round of negotiations on relations between Brussels and London after Britain left the EU. This was announced by the EU’s chief negotiator for Brexit Michel Barnier.

“Today, the second round of negotiations has begun in a video conference format. We must move forward in all directions: our goal is to achieve tangible progress by June, ” he said, adding that he would additionally inform about the negotiations that had begun.

The EU and the UK should complete negotiations on a future agreement by the end of this year, despite a pandemic. The next rounds of discussions will be held in the format of video conferencing.
