Life in Chile may not return to the same standards for another two years because of the coronavirus pandemic, said President Sebastian Piñera, quoted by Radio BioBio Chile.
“The Coronavirus pandemic may be with us before an effective and massive vaccine is invented, which could take up to two years… Our country and our lives will not return to the same normalcy in a long time”, – he said.
“We need to learn to live in a new normalcy in which the Coronavirus will be among us for a long time and in which we will have to combine the necessary protection of our health with other requirements and needs of our lives”, – he added.
In Chile, 10 088 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed, 133 people have died and 4338 have recovered.
