In Europe, the number of cases of coronavirus has exceeded one million people, according to the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).
“As of Sunday, April 19, in the countries of Europe, including Russia and Turkey, more than 1,000,000 confirmed cases of infection and more than 100,000 deaths from the new coronavirus have been registered”, – the report said.
Most cases of the disease are in Spain, which was the first European country to exceed the 200,000 mark: 20 852 people died, 80 587 patients recovered. Next come Italy (175 925), Germany (139 897), Great Britain (114 217) and France (111821).
In total, Europe accounts for almost half the number of infections in the world and more than 60% of all deaths.
In the world at the moment, according to the worldometers website, 2418559 cases of coronavirus disease, while 165741 people have died and 633062 have recovered.
In Ukraine, another 261 cases of coronavirus were detected per day. In total, there are 5710 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country, of which 151 are fatal, 359 patients recovered.
At the same time, seven regions did not submit data for Sunday.
