Coronavirus will not be able to defeat Russophobia in the Baltic states: Desire to please the West is stronger than common sense

Nikolai Mezhevich, president of the Russian Association for Baltic Studies, believes that Europe’s inability to lift sanctions from the Russian Federation proceeds from the logic of the functioning of the EU.

“Supporters of the continuation and tightening of the sanctions regime – Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, maybe Sweden – have a very strong advantage in the EU: they are guaranteed to vote against the lifting of sanctions. Thus, the oncoming movement of those countries that are interested in their abolition should be so strong as to convince the absolute opponents, ” Baltnews reports.

The Baltic states, from principle, are ready to end up in the pit, sacrifice their interests, if only the Western “owners” were happy. It’s only a pity that they don’t understand that you won’t get far with such logic.
